Since Flickr rolled out its Stats tab, my point-‘n’-shoot picture of Viggo Mortensen has been the undisputed No. 1 picture. That’s all about to change.
A picture of musician Ingrid Michaelson rocking a side pony as a joke was picked up by Yahoo! image search and has helped the picture shoot up the all-time list, despite the fact it was taken a good 18 months after the Viggo picture.
People have lost interest in my point-‘n’-shoot of Brady Quinn, which was also once very popular. Because let’s be honest, it’s a terrible photograph.
A funny story I always tell about #4. My friend Rob openly questioned why I’d want to take a picture of the outside of a hockey arena. I was intrigued by what I saw and I wanted to document it. Apparently others find it compelling too. (For full disclosure, I should mention I put it in a Flick pool of NHL Arenas, which undoubtedly helped.)
My shot of Ryan Miller, in which you can’t even see the puck, is a consistent hit-grabber long after the Ice Bowl. (It’s also in a Flickr pool of NHL Winter Classic pictures.)
Pictures #6 and #8 are screenshots from TV and were featured on the Uniwatch blog.
I have no clue why picture #7 of the Padres bench is so intriguing to people, especially because I’ve been able to ID only two of the eight players sitting on the bench.
A second picture of Viggo Mortensen, which is not available on Yahoo! image search like its counterpart from the same event, is my ninth most viewed picture.
(Not shown: #10 is this crappy picture of Jeff Samardzija, which was from the same walk through as Brady Quinn.)

Between natural disasters, covering triple homicides and reporting on fatal accidents, journalists see some pretty horrific stuff. And since journalist pay ranks around that of a trained circus monkey, they can’t afford any psychological help. However, they can afford a $15 bottle of Fighting Cock bourbon.
